We have just started a new helpx/workaway position in Austria at a Siberian Husky centre and today we went for a little trip with a few of the dogs in the car. I really don’t think I can describe it as well in words. So I will just let the photos do it for me.
So why all the huskies in the car? We were taking them for a walk of course! Or more precisely a nice long hike in a nearby reserve, much to the dismay of the 10 huskies we had to leave behind.
It was a great hike and we ran out of energy and steam long before the dogs had. Probably because we spend a fair share of our time slipping, sliding and occasionally falling over in the mud, trying to get a grip as the dogs are continuously pulling on the leash in an attempt to be the lead dog. As the snow has begun to melt over the last few days we are left with mud, mud and more mud so our clothes weren’t looking the best at the end of the day but it was worth it.
Hey Mum, feel like doing my washing?

Perfect coloured trousers for the job !! hehe

I never get tired of hearing about everything that you are doing, makes me feel like I’m travelling with you. If not in a bit more or a comfortable position
Glad to be able to share it with you

Nice to meet another Sam! Looks fun to be working with the huskies! What does the centre do?
Hi Sam,
It is loads of fun! The centre does a number of things. You can come here throughout winter, autumn and spring and do huksy rides, if there is snow it is on a sled and if there is no snow it can be done of a 4 wheeled buggy – which is heaps of fun! Lots of people also come out to go on hikes with the dogs as well as individuals or groups who come out to do a range of animal assisted therapy activities with the dogs. All in all, there is lots going on and it is really interesting.
